KANNAUJ ,Uttar Pradesh city is known as the Grasse of the east. It is situated near the river Ganga.

Its classical name is kanyakubja means hunchbacked maidens. During the period of Mihira Bhoja Kannauj was also known as Mahodaya.In ancient time it is the capital of the empire of king Harsha. Kannauj is also known as India’s perfume capital. It is a market center for rose water, tobacco, Ittar.
