The first cell viewed by the light microscope was the cells in the bark of an oak tree.
For the first time Van Leeuwenhoek used the light microscope.
Further, he also used to look at the microscopic living organisms which included those that were in pond water like that of the amoebas.
Therefore, he is also called as the father of microbiology.
