First mass movement of Gandhiji was Champaran Satyagraha in the year of 1917 which happened in Champaran district of Bihar. It played a major in India's Independence.

It was started against of Rowlatt act. Whole Hindu-Muslim communities joined in this movement. It gave the major spirit to Indian youth. It also effected on Bengal also. Bengal also joined in this Satyagraha.
