The shortest war in history only lasted 38 minutes. It was fought between the United Kingdom and the Zanzibar Sultanate on 27 August 1896. However, 300–500 men died. The shortest war is considered to be the Anglo-Zanzibar conflict which lasted about 40 minutes.
