c) Frequency and amplitude

Frequency of a wave increases with energy.

The characteristic of wave which is independent of others is : Amplitude

Frequency: Frequency of wave means the number of vibration of the wave per second.

 If a pendulum vibrates 50 times in 1 second then its frequency will 50 times per second or 50 Hz.

                     Frequency = 1 /time period and unit is Hz.

Wavelength: The distance between two crests or two troughs of a particular wave is called the wavelength. The unit of wave length is metre.

Speed: Speed of a wave is the distance traveled by the wave in a particular time duration. The unit of speed is metre/ second.

 Speed = Wavelength × Frequency

  So speed, wavelength and frequency all depends each other. If one variable is changed then other will be changed. But, amplitude is not depending on three of them. That's why Amplitude is independent variable.
