The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given Oppo Mobiles India Private Limited the sponsorship for the Indian Cricket Team for a period of five years starting from April 2017.

Oppo Mobiles India which is the local arm of Chinese firm Oppo Electronics Corp offered more than another Chinese smartphone company, Vivo, to bag the deal.

Oppo`s offer to pay Rs1,079 crore was much higher than both the reserve price of Rs 538 crore of the Board of Control for Cricket and  Vivo`s bid of Rs768 crore. The new offer of OPPO is nearly five times the current sponsor, Star India paid in 2013.
