Ice at 0 degree Celsius will cool better than water at same temperature because the ice will absorb more heat from the substance we need to cool due to its latent energy than water at 0 degree Celsius.
here is your answer....

\boxed{(A)\: \:  QUESTION\: \: \: :}

▶ Which will cool better - Ice at 0°C or Water at same temperature (0°C)?

\boxed{(B) \: \:ANSWER\: \: \: :}

▶ A better cooling agent has less heat content. To produce ice at 0°C, 80 Calorie of heat are to be withdrawn from each gram if water at 0°C. So, certain amount of ice at 0°C has less heat content as compared to the same quantity of water at 0°C. As a result, ice absorbs more heat than equal amount of water at that same temperature (0°C).

▶ The latent heat of fusion of ice is 80 calorie per gram or 336 Joule per gram.

▶ The term "latent heat" is simply defined as the heat which changes the state of a substance without any change of temperature.

▶ CGS unit of heat is Calorie (Cal).

▶ SI unit if heat is Joule (J).

▶ 1 calorie = 4.18 or 4.2 Joule (approx.)

▶ Heat lost by the hot bodies = Heat gained by the cold bodies. This is the principle of calorimetry.
