P = F/A
Case 1:-
Mass of the object = 100 kg
∴ Thrust (F) = (100 kg)(9.8 m/s²) = 980 N
[F = m × a]
Area = 10 m²
∴ P = (980 N)/(10 m²) = 98 Pa
Case 2:-
Mass of the object = 50 kg
∴ Thrust (F) = (50 kg)(9.8 m/s²) = 490 N
[F = m × a]
Area = 2 m²
∴ P = (490 N)/(2 m²) = 245 Pa
Therefore, the object having a mass of 50 kg will exert more pressure on the surface.
