Answer:

The weight are force only which acts on the surface area

Hence the force acting on 10m^2 is 100 N

and that on 4m^2 is 50 N

F1 = 100 N

A1 = 10m^2

F2 = 50N

A2 = 4m^2

Pressure = Force/Area

P1 = F1/A1

= 100/10

P1 = 10 Pa

P2 = F2/A2

= 50/4

P2 = 12.5 Pa

Hence P2 is Greater than P1

Answer:

50kg mass on 4mm^{2} area will exert more pressure.

Explanation:

The given data of masses and areas is written in symbolic form as shown below-

m_{1}=110kg,A_{1}=5m^{2}\\m_{2}=50kg,A_{2}=4mm^{2}=4\times10^{-6}m^{2}

The force exerted by these masses would be their weights which are calculated as shown below.

F_{1}=110\times9.81=1079.1N\\F_{2}=50\times9.81=490.5N

We know that pressure exerted by a body is the ratio of exerted force and effected area.Hence we write

P=\frac{F}{A}

We shall find the pressure for both the bodies as shown below-

P_{1}=\frac{1079.1}{5}=215.82Pa\\P_{2}=\frac{490.5}{4\times10^{-6}}=122.6Mpa

Hence we observe that P_{2} > P_{1}

Therefore,50kg mass on 4mm^{2} area will exert more pressure than the other one.
