The value of earth resistance will increase when length of earth pipe is increased.

Explanation:

  • Earth resistance is the resistance between the electrode and point of zero potential.
  • We know that \bold{R=\rho\frac{ L}{A}}, where R = resistance, \rho= resistivity, L= length and A= cross sectional area.
  • From the above expression we get that \bold{R\propto L} and \bold{R\propto \frac{1}{A} }.
  • Since resistance is proportional to length, hence resistance will increase when length increase.
  • From the above points we can conclude that, when length of earth pipe is increased the earth resistance will also increase.
