Answer:

F = m*a

In case 1 , a = 10/5 m/s^2 = 2m/s^2

In case 2, a= 5/10 m/s^2 = 0.5 m/s^2

Thus, a force of 10N acting on a mass of 5 kg would produce greater acceleration.

Given:

A force of 10.0N acting on a mass of 5.0kg, and a force of 5.0N acting on a mass of 10.0kg.

To find:

Which one produces bigger acceleration ?

Calculation:

  • Acceleration is a vector quantity characterized by the rate of change of velocity.

  • Acceleration is force divided by mass.

For 1st object:

  • a = F/m = 10/5 = 2 m/s².

For 2nd object:

  • a = F/m = 5/10 = 0.5 m/s².

\star 1st object has higher acceleration.
