Answer: Force= Mass x Acceleration

m₁= 2 kg

a₁= 5 m/s²

F₁= 2 x 5= 10 N

m₂= 4 kg

a₂= 2 m/s²

F₂= 4 x 2= 8 N

So, the first mass will require more force.

Hope it helps!!!!

Given:-

  • Mass of 1st object ,m1 = 2kg

  • Acceleration of 1st object ,a1 = 5 m/s²

  • Mass of 2nd object ,m2 = 4 kg

  • Acceleration of 2nd object ,a2 = 2m/s²

To Find:-

  • Which would require greater force

Solution:-

As we know that force is the product of mass and acceleration .

• F = ma

Force required for 1st object

F1 = m1×a1

Substitute the value we get

→ F1 = 2×5

→ F1 = 10 N..............(i)

Force required for 1st object is 10 Newton.

•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Force required for 2nd object

→ F2 = m2×a2

Subsitute the value we get

→ F2 = 4×2

→ F2 = 8 N ............(ii)

Therefore Force required for 2nd object is 8 Newton .

From equation (i) & (ii) we observe that

1st object required more force .
