Answer:

Mass of 4kg at 2m/s2 will require greater force.

Explanation:

As,

F=ma

In case 1

F=1/2×5

=2.5 N

F=4×2

=8N

\huge\mathfrak\blue{Answer:}

Given:

  • Two bodies are given such that :
  • First body of mass 0.5 kg must be accelerated to 5m/s^2 .
  • Second body of mass 4kg must be accelerated to 2m/s^2 .

To Find:

  • Which body will require a greater force to attain their respective acceleration

Solution:

Let us assume

Mass of first body be = m1 = 0.5 kg

Mass of second body be = m2 = 4kg

\\

Acceleration of first body = a1 = 5m/s^2

Acceleration of 2nd body = a2 = 2m/s^2

_______________________

Force Required by body 1

Using Newton's second law

F1 = m1 . a1

F1 = ( 0.5 ).( 5 )

F1 = 2.5 N

Force required by 1st body is 2.5 N

________________________

Force required by body 2

Using Newton's second law

F2 = m2 . a2

F2 = ( 4 ).( 2 )

F2 = 8 N

Force required by 2nd body is 8 N

From the above two value it can be concluded that

A body of mass 4 kg will require a larger force to accelerate at 5m/s^2 .
