Genetically modified organisms (GMO) are plants or animals in which their original genome is altered so that desirable output can be obtained.

Examples of GMOs: Corn , Superbug , soybeans , cotton

On formation or manipulation of Gmo the threshold to which the genes can be changed are not clear. This may result in several consequences.

Increased consumption of Gmos may result in development of allergies.

Since Gmos are much stable that natural foods, huge amount of herbicides and insecticides are use in the production of Gmos.

During the process of formation of Gmos, plasmids with several antibiotic resistance genes are used. These Altered genes can affect humans by causing antibiotic resistance.

The genetic alteration Gmo crops donot constrain to the crops alone. When these crops are consumed the chances of such herbivore to be a GMO is much more.In long run, this may affect the food chain of an entire ecosystem, and ultimately every organism will have a ting of  Gmo genes in them.
