The chemicals in onions irritate the inner lining of our eyes and cause tears to flow. This is why we have tears in our eyes everytime we cut onions.

When we cut onion,a gas Propanethiol S-oxide released which. mic with enzymes produce Sulfur gas this cause tears in eyes.
