let the speed of cycling in still air is x

speed of wind = y

now cycling along the wind

30/(x+y) = 3

x+y = 10 --------(1)

opposite wind

30/(x-y) = 5

x-y = 6 ---------(2)

solving 2 equations we get

x = 8

y = 2

so the speed in still air is 8kmph

and speed of wind is 2kmph
