While determining the density of a solid sphere a student noted down the following readings
a) Mass of the sphere = 64g
b) Reading of water level in the cylinder without the object = 62ml
c) Reading of water level in the cylinder with the object =70ml
On the basis of these observations what would be the density of solid.

as mass is 64g and volume is 70ml-62ml=8ml

formula is mass/volume

64 / 8 = 8

Answer:

mass of sphere = 64g = 0.064kg.

volume of sphere = (volume of water level in the cylinder with the object) - (volume of water level in the cylinder without object)

= (70 - 62) ml = 8ml = 0.008 litre.

= 0.008 × 10³ m³ = 8 m³.

so, density of sphere = 0.064/8 = 0.008 kg/m³.
