While determining the time period of a simple pendulum, why the time of 20 or more oscillations is found?

Explanation:

Simple pendulum is a very small heavy metal bob suspended at a point from a firmly fixed support using a single strand thread so that is occilation freely. the distance between the point of suspension and centre of bob is called as length of the pendulem.

one oscillation:one complete to and fro motion of the oscillating body is called as one oscillation.

frequency:it is the number of oscillations made by the body in one second.

time period:it is the time taken by a body to complete one oscillation.hence time period =time taken by the pendulem/number of oscillations made by the pendulem.

so , 20/10

= 2sec

frequency=1/time period

so 10/20

= 1/2

=0.5HZ
