While diluting an acid, why it is recommended that the acid should be added to water and not water to the acid?

because when we add acid to water small amount of heat it liberate that's why we have to add acid in water

Cause usually The Strong acids are diluted which in both cases is an exothermic process...Hence if you Pour water into The acid solution there is a great chance that the Acid may splash on the environment thus u or someone could get hurt
thats why in most of the cases acids arr added to water dropwise with constant stirring
