at first when you wash it it being a indicator turns red but after experiencing a lot of neutral water it washes off

turmeric is a natural indicator and when soap is scrubbed against the white shirt the yellow color of the stain changes to red color indicating that its a base.
when it is washed with plenty of water it becomes very dilute and regains its original color.
