Given :- While finding the HCF of two numbers by division method the three quotients are 5 , 4 ,3 and final divisor is 32 . What two numbers are we talking about ?

Solution :-

we know that,

  • Dividend = Divisor * Quotient + Remainder .

starting from last we get,

we have given that,

→ final divisor = 32

→ final quotient = 3

→ final remainder = 0 (since we are finding HCF)

so,

→ Dividend = Divisor * Quotient + Remainder .

→ Dividend = 32 * 3 + 0

→ Dividend = 96

now, we get,

→ second divisor = 96

→ second quotient = 4

→ second remainder = 32

so,

→ Dividend = Divisor * Quotient + Remainder .

→ Dividend = 96 * 4 + 32

→ Dividend = 416

now, we get,

→ first divisor = 416

→ first quotient = 5

→ first remainder = 96

so,

→ Dividend = Divisor * Quotient + Remainder .

→ Dividend = 416 * 5 + 96

→ Dividend = 2176

therefore, required two numbers are 416 and 2176 .
