Because there is a time lag of 2 hours from arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat that's why...... There for standard Meridian of India passing through mirzapur is taken as standard time for the whole country.. Hope it's help you...(0 0)

The rising time of sun in both the places are different from each other. There is a time lag of two hours bet the time of sunrise in Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh. This is because they both are on two different corner of different corner of India.Gujarat is in westernmost side and Arunachal Pradesh is on the easternmost side ,very close to China. But a thing which is noticeable is that the clock of both the places show same time. This is because of the standard meridian which decide the common time of a particular country. This standard meridian passes through Mirzapur of UP at an angle of 82°1/2 East.Thats why both the placeshave same time.
