While making a slide of spirogroyra filaments , glycerin is poured on filaments placing the coverslip . What is the use of glycerin? Answer

We pour glycerin to avoid the slide(spirogroyra filaments) from getting dry. If the slide will get dry we won't be able to see it properly under the microscope.
