While object is moving in uniform velocity in given direction then its acceleration is zero why?

because acceleration is change in velocity with respect to time....think you are walking on a road with some speed its uniform velocity if a dog is behind you start running thats acceleration  ...in this case your velocity is constant so therefore acceleration will be 0
