- The role of guard cell is to controlling the gas exchange of the plant.
- It contain chloroplast thus, it can involved in the process of photosynthesis.
- The inner wall of the guard cell is thicker than its outer wall.
- It is found in the epidermis of leaves, stems but not in roots.
- It can be differentiated from epidermal cell.
Epidermal Cell
- The role of epidermal cell is to provide a protection to the plant from the external environment.
- It do not contain chloroplast .
- The outer wall of the epidermal cell is thicker than its inner wall.
- It is found in epidermis of leaves, stems and roots.
- It can be differentiated from protoderm.
