while performing an experiment a student observed that when he hits some Green crysta in boiling to the colour of the Crystal changes to Brown and a gas evolved with smell like burning sulphur

Green Crystal = Ferous Sulphate FeSO4

when u heat FeSO4 = u will get three products Ferric Oxide , Sulphur dioxide and Sulphur trioxide ..

The burning smell is of SO2 and SO3 gases

Brown colour crystals = Fe2O3 Ferric Oxide
