While performing an experiment to verify the law of conservation of mass in a chemical reaction,we generally use 5% of 2 salts.to prepare 5% solution ,what amount of water should be mixed with 5 g of salt?

If it is 5%(w/v) then you should add 100 ml of water to 5g of the salt.
If it is 5%(w/w) then you should add 100g of water to 5g of the salt.

w/v - weight in volume
w/w - weight in weight

We generally use 5% of salt to prepare 5% of the solution . If 5g of salt is used then it is 5% of 100. So 100g of water should be mixed with 5g of salt.
