While performing the experiment to trace the path of ray through a glass slab the teacher instructed
her students to ensure that during the experiment glass slab, may not get displaced from its boundary. this instruction was given because if slab gets dis laced from its boundary then
1. the angle of incident ray will change
2. the diagram will not look nice
3.the refracted ray will not be traceable. 4.the emergent ray will not be seen

Answer:

1.

Because when light rays travelling through air enters glass slab, they get refracted and bend towards the normal. ... Since the ray of light I know travelling from denser medium to rarer medium, it bends away from the normal. In this case incident ray and the emergent ray are parallel to each other.
