while playing football the goalkeeper didn't get sufficient time to stop a fast ball shot towards him why did he hurt his hand while doing so

Because of the more force,more momentum,more speed of the ball,the goalkeeper doesnot get sufficient time to stop the ball and the goalkeeper at first was in rest and when the ball comes towards him,he suddenly changes his state to motion by increasing more speed and momentum, he doesnot get sufficient time to come to rest when he falls on ground
Therefore, he gets hurt
