Role in the preparation of temporary mount of a leaf peel to show stomata: Glycerine: It is a good dehydrating agent and prevents the specimen from drying out. Due to its refractive nature, it tends to reflect the light better and as a consequence, the specimen can be clearly observed under the microscope.
