While preparing dilute sulpharic acid from concentrated sulpharic acid in the laboratory the cocentreted sulpheric acid is added slowly to water with constant strring.why?

concentrated sulphuric acid is added slowly to water because when water is added to acid a large amount of heat is evolved. That is why acid is added to water not water in acid.
