While processing the HIPAA data in the cloud, storing the company’s e-mails should be avoided.  

If the company’s e-mails are stored in the cloud, then the chances of them being targeted by attackers directly and/or exposing them unintentionally are very high. Therefore, the e-mails along with the attachments in them must be encrypted during the entire data lifecycle.
