While purchasing one item costing Rs.400, I had to pay the sales tax at 7% and on another costing Rs. 6400
the sales tax was 9%. What percent of the sales tax I had to pay, taking the two items together on an average?

Cost of first object= 400

tax %=7%

Tax= 7/100*400

     =7*4

     =28

Cost of second object=6400

tax %=9%

Tax=9/100*6400

     =64*9

     =576

Total cost =400+6400+28+576

                =7404

Percent of the sales tax on an average of both the objects

                                        = 576+28/7404*100

                                        =604/7404*100

                                        =0.081577*100

                                        =8.1577%
