The incident mention in the question can be explained in the following way -

  • The electricity conducted metals have a property of electrical resistance which resist the flow of electricity through the metal.
  • Now, this resistance against the electricity flow creates significant amount of heat energy.
  • And, according to the ohm's law, the resistance of a conductor is directly proportional to the amount of generated heat.
  • Now, the heating element of the heaters are made out of the nichrome which has extremely high electrical resistance. Due to this extremely high amount of electrical resistance, a high amount of heat energy is produced from the heater.
