Solution :-

Let the marked price of book be x

Given : While selling a book, a shopkeeper gives a discount of 6%.

Selling price = MP - discount % of MP

= x - 6% of x

= x - 0.06x = 0.94x

Given : If he had given a discount of 9% he would have got Rs. 30 less as profit.

Selling price = MP - discount % of MP

= x - 9% of x

= x - 0.09x = 0.91x

According to the question,

=> 0.94x - 0.91x = 30

=> 0.03x = 30

=> x = 30/0.03 = 1000

Hence,

A) Rs. 1000 is the required answer.
