While solving the expression2^3+2^(3 )+2^(3 )+2^(3 ), Stella found the answer to be 2^12 but Mike said that the answer should be 2^5. Is Mike right? Support your answer with evidence.

According to the way you wrote the quesiton, we have

2^3+2^{(3)}+2^{(3)}+2^{(3)}

Solving the topmost exponents first

2^{(3+3+3+3)}

2^{12}

So Mike is wrong.
