because , in S block the electron move far from nucleus thus effective nuclear charge decreases and the S block lose electron to be stable and thus energy required i.e ionization energy decreases

while P block elements mostly gain electrons to attain stability thus they attract electrons towards nucleus thus moving down size increases although the ionization energy increases
