While travelling on a rickshaw, we tend to slip if the seat cover is very smooth when sudden brakes are applied, because smooth surface reduces friction.

When there is less frictional force between two surfaces, grasp over each other is weak and thus cause us to slip over sometimes even making us fall while on a smooth surfaced rickshaw.

The smoother the surface, the lower the friction.

Keeping this in mind, the answer would be as follows.

A smooth seat offers low friction and almost no grip which means that you often tend to slip and fall down.

Hope it helps you:)
