Answer:

you have to use the concept of relative motion.HOPE THIS WILL HELP YOU.READ COMPLETELY FOR DETAILED EXPLANATION.

Explanation:

FIRST WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT VELOCITY(TRAIN)=VELOCITY(passenger)

when the train moves in one direction ,to a passenger ,all bodies which are not connected to the moving body appears to be moving backward

velocity(co passenger with respect to passenger)

=velocity(train wrt stationary observer)-velocity(train with respect to stationary observer)

=0(since both passengers are in one moving with same velocity with respect to stationary observer)

Similarly,

velocity( of tree with respect to passenger in train)

=velocity (of tree with respect to stationary observer)-velocity(of passenger wrt stationary observer)

=0-velocity(train)

= - velocity(train)

minus sign indicates opposite direction.THIS IS WHY THE TREE APPEARS TO BE MOVING BACKWARDS TO THE PASSENGER.
