while using iodine in the laboratory some drops of iodine fell on rechels socks and some fell on soaks the drops of iodine fell on the teachers suite turned black blue file their colour did not change on the socks what can be the possible reason​

Iodine changes its colour to blue black when it comes in contact of starch. In this case, the the possible reason for the change in colour of the teachers suite would be the presence if starch on her clothes. On the other hand,the colour of the socks didnt change because of the absence of starch on it, hence the colour of Rachel's socks didnt change but that of her teacher's changed..................Hope it helps
