while working out a question on probability.It was found that there were 286 letters of english alphabets.The following was observation of occurring each letter a:70, b:14, e:26, r:40 and i:36.Other(not including towards equal hundred.Find the probability (i)a vowel (ii) one each other​

Given :   286 letters of english alphabets   a:70, b:14, e:26, r:40 and i:36 others 100

To find :    probability (i)a vowel (ii) one each other​

Solution:

Assumptions : others does not have vowels :

Total Letters = 286

Vowels : a = 70   e = 26   i = 36

Total Vowels = 70 + 26 + 36

= 132

Probability of Vowels =  132/286

= 66/143

= 6/13

Probability of other than a , b , e , r , i= 100/286

= 50/143

Probability of Vowels = 6/13

Probability of other  than a , b , e , r , i = 50/143
