Well, today was another one of those boring days. My exams are over and I'm waiting for the new academic session. Thought I'd read a book but realized that I'd already finished the last book. That's when my mom came in and gave me a list of grocery items that I had to buy. It was a really long list as guests were planning on visiting us the day after. So I got ready and headed straight for the market. As I'd halfway finished taking items that were written in the list, I noticed this girl of about my age. She was dressed in a plaid shirt and skinny jeans. Something about her disturbed me. Maybe I'd seen her somewhere in some random place. But there was this feeling that kept bugging me, giving me an "I-know-that-person-very-well" vibe! I finally decided to to let go of it and carry on. I had to get home before it got late anyway as my mom's kind of strict about that. At that very moment, that same girl taps me on the shoulders and exclaims "Vanessa!! Remember me, April?" I felt like slapping myself for not having recognized her in the first place. No wonder I'd got this quick rush of a variety of feelings! It had been really long since she left 3rd grade. I started conversing with her about all the things that I'd been wanting to tell her. She had really changed a lot! It was then when I glanced at my watch and realized that I was late. I quickly got her contact details and promised that I'd contact her. I rushed to the counter, made the purchase and hurried back home. As usual, she was angry and started giving me a lecture. I told her that it was because I met April. She was stunned though I didn't expect this. She suddenly started asking a lot of questions about her well-being. And that was pretty much about it. Went back to my room to have a chat with her and she's doing well. Leaving the rest for tomorrow. :)
