eight black sacks are lying in a factory storage unit.Rats have contaminated an average of 2/7 of wheat in each sack .How much wheat (in kg) from these sacks is still not contaminated.​

Solution :-

given that,

  • weight of each black sack = 4(2/5) kg = (22/5) kg.
  • Total sacks in factory storage = 8 black sacks .
  • Rats contaminated = (2/7) of each sack.

so,

→ wheat contaminated from each black sack = (2/7) of (22/5) = (44/35)

then,

→ wheat contaminated from 8 black sack = 8 * (44/35) = (352/35) kg .

now,

→ Total weights of 8 black sacks = 8 * (22/5) = (176/5) kg .

therefore,

→ Sacks still not contaminated = (176/5) - (352/35) = (176*7 - 352) / 35 = (1232 - 352) / 35 = (880/35) = (176/7) = 25(1/7) kg. (Ans.)
