3)used in white washing it is a base , it is used as a labrotary chemical .
it is STRONG alkali .
it is a type of exothermic reaction in which heat is released.

Formula of quick lime = Cao..
a) Cao + H2O -----------> Ca(OH)2 + Heat
b) As a lot of heat was evolved its an exothermic reaction.. But also as only one product is obtained its combination reaction..
c) This solution is mixed with carbon dioxide (CO2) to obtain CaCO3 which is a insoluble white precipitate which is used in white washing and also for carbon dioxide test..
Formula -
Ca(OH) 2 + CO2 ------------>
CaCO3 +H2O...
