According to my opinion, the main perpetrator of the famous battle of Ramayan was Surpanakha.

If there had been no Surpanakha, there would have been no Ramayana.

- As she belonged to the family of Rakshasas, she emitted the power of changing into different skins of different people.

- She could change many forms from one to another. She was an ugly woman as described by Valmiki.

- Surpanakha when saw Lord Rama in the forest she got attracted to the charm of Rama and she proposed to him but lord Rama refused her proposal. He was Ek - Patni - Vritha. Then she went to Laxman but he also refused.

- Burning into fumes, she tried attacking Sita, then Laxman cut her nose and She went to her brother Ravana so that he could take revenge for her insult.

- As a result, Ravan kidnapped Sita.
