Hasan Khan was a landlord of Sasaram (Bihar) (under Jaunpur region). Hasan Khan's son Farid (Sher Khan) was the founder of the Sur Empire. An unarmed Farid killed a lion, thus was adorned with the title of Sher Khan by the ruler of South Bihar-Bahar Khan.
