The correct option is A) lord warren hestings

Explanation:

He was pursuing his career as a surgeon when he landed in Calcutta and was praised for both being a surgeon and merchant unless he faced a severe  loss in business.

He was unable to pay the debt and became a journalist after ending up in debtor's prison.

He used to publish from imprisonment.

But soon he started writing gossips about the senior east India officials which made the Governor general  lord warren hestings persecute him.
