The black man can be called as an opportunist because he , by not keeping his log to thought that it would be the perfect time to take revenge on the white woman who is present in the forlon group

Answer: All men in the poem are indifferent and apathetic to one another, however the man who was opportunist in the poem was the last man in the group whose only thoughts and actions were motivated by personal gain. He believed in giving to those who gave him in return.
