- Amir Maqbool Fida Husain (17 September 1915 – 9 June 2011) An Indian artist by the name of [3][4] was renowned for creating narrative paintings that were bright, vividly coloured, and changed in Cubist fashion. One of the most renowned and well-known Indian artists of the 20th century, he was also recognised globally. He was one of the organization's original founding members. In the 1940s, M.F. Husain was a prominent figure in Indian modernism.
- His earliest involvement with the Bombay Progressive Artists' Group employed contemporary technique and was motivated by the "new" India that emerged after the 1947 split. His adapted Cubist-style narrative paintings can be both sombre and gloomy as well as sharp and humorous. His themes, which are occasionally presented in series, cover a variety of subjects, such as Gandhi.
- Husain received the coveted Raja Ravi Varma award from the Keralan government when he was 92 years old. The news sparked debate in Kerala, and several cultural organisations protested the award's issuance and filed lawsuits with the state's courts.
