let the diameter of a sphere be d

so , the radius of the sphere be d/2

CSA = 4πr ^2 = 4×22/7 ×d/2 ×d/2

the diameter is decreased by 25 % . = 1/4d

so , new diameter d - 1/4d = 3/4d

new CSA = 4 π ( 3/4d ) ^2

= 9π d ^2 / 16

percentage decrease in CSA

= πrd^2 - 9πd^2 / 16 / π d ^2 ×100

volume

let volume of sphere be V and radius R

V = 4/3 π r ^3

= 7 / 16 × 100 = 43.75 %

if the diameter of the sphere decrease by 25% , the new radius be = 3/4 r

new volume = 4/3 π (3/4r )^3 / 4/3 π r ^3

V = 27/64
